Awards and Distinctions

In 2022, I received Jiangsu Province’s prestigious “Envoy of People’s Friendship” award, acknowledging my contribution to research collaboration and talent cultivation in robotics and AI.

Three years earlier, in 2019, Jiangsu recognised my work with a High-Level Foreign-Expert Friendship Award, and in the same year formally approved my Robotics Research Laboratory as a “Jiangsu Foreign-Expert Studio,” a designation reserved for centres that drive regional innovation.

My earlier career in the United Kingdom was marked by several national honours. On 7 July 2003 I was one of a small group of lecturers and managers invited by Prime Minister Tony Blair to a dinner reception at 10 Downing Street, organised by the Department for Education and Skills, in recognition of excellence in further-education leadership.

In 2000 the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales accredited a bank-overcharge checking program and companion web application that I developed, and in 1997 British Telecommunications presented me with its national Gold Shield Award at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham for outstanding technical innovation.
